Sitting up

Seeing Graham sit up by himself makes my heart swell up.
He seriously makes me so happy.
He is just one week shy of being 5 months old and is sitting up by himself.
He is still a little wobbly so I am right there with him, but still I am so proud of him!
He is growing up way to fast!
We are trying to soak everything in.

This morning I was doing the dishes and I came into the living room for something and saw this perfect photo op. Graham was sitting with his daddy helping him with his homework.
For those of you who have been around Graham a lot know that he doesn't sit in one place for very long. He likes to go, go, go... or he likes us to carry him and make us go, go, go! ;) So this was very cute/sweet of Graham to be sitting with Preston!

Graham has also been rolling non-stop lately. I can tell he wants to crawl so badly.
Soon enough!! We still have baby proof our house so he can't get into everything.

Yesterday when he was playing he was trying to hard to grab the mirror. It was pretty cute :)

My sidekick

Someone asked me how old my baby was yesterday and it was so weird for me to say 5 months. Technically he isn't 5 months until next week but its close enough. I was thinking yesterday how it is so strange to imagine my life without Graham. I know, I know... I went almost 23 years without him, it can't be that weird, BUT IT IS! Its crazy how its only been 5 months but it feels like he has always been there.

I love watching him grow each and every day and seeing the new things he does and the new discoveries he makes. Like discovering his feet, and toes, and being able to roll over and sit up even if its only for 10 seconds. I love that his little personality is starting to show, and I can't wait to see the person he will become in the future.

Being a mom is definitely hard work, but I am so thankful that I am able to stay home with him everyday. I am also thankful I have a husband who WANTS me to be a stay at home wife and mom. I am blessed he works so hard so that I can stay at home because I do realize that it isn't a possibility for everyone. It takes a lot of sacrifice on both of our parts. We may not have the latest and greatest but that is okay.

Graham and I went to Chico yesterday with my mom. I had a doctor's appointment and we had to do a couple other errands. I am pretty sure I have the cutest little sidekick in the world!!! :)

That was interesting....

It seems like the night before Preston has school something weird happens. Last semester the night before every one of Preston's finals were the nights Graham decided it was a good idea not to sleep. Last night was no different except add in the fact that I wasn't able to sleep despite the fact that I was super tired.

Fast forward a couple hours and I hear this loud bang noise. I have no idea where it's coming from but it's loud enough and close enough for me to wake up Preston. He goes and checks the house out and looks outside and can't find anything. So we all try and go to sleep again but Graham and I still can't sleep so I get up and we go in Graham's room so we don't disturb Preston. While I am in Graham's room I see a bright flash light coming through his window and hear some talking... I get up and go get Preston again (poor guy has to get up in 3 hours). As I'm getting Preston there is a knock at the door so he quickly goes to answer it and it is a policeman. He asks us if we heard a shotgun go off a little bit ago. I tell him I heard something really loud but wasn't sure what it was. Anyways... Apparently our neighbors were intoxicated and let off their shotgun and it went in to the side of our house... Right where Graham's room is. Wow that makes me feel super comfortable and safe. What if it went through somehow? He doesn't sleep in there right now thankfully. But now I don't no if he ever will.
Looking out of Graham's bedroom window.

Our house.

Well that is my rant for the day.

Preston: I hope you have a really great first day of school! We can't wait to see you when you get home :)

UPDATE: Preston and my dad went to talk to them and they felt really bad. Don't think we will have anymore problems

Graham and daddy

Every night Preston gives Graham a bath... It's their thing. Graham has loooooved his baths from very beginning.  The other night Preston worked late so I had the pleasure of giving him his bath and noticed he always had to have his foot under the faucet. I wasn't able to get a picture of it that night because I was alone, but I did tonight.

I love him :)

We went back to the fair tonight. We got a snow cone and a curly fry but the curly fry was extremely greasy we couldn't eat it :/

Surprise visitors

Yesterday Graham and I got bored so we decided to take advantage of the cooler weather and take a walk to grandmas house and wait for Preston to get off work to come and pick us up. We were there for a little bit playing with the toys at their house.
I must add that Macey loves Graham. Whenever he is crying she always has to come over to see what's up and make sure he is okay lol.

Anyways... All of the sudden there was a knock at the door. It was my grandparents from Redding. I guess my mom knew they were coming but they didn't want my mom to tell me because they didn't want to stress me out (having to have a clean house, etc.) How kind. :) I did just get done cleaning my house so it would have been fine ;)

We visited and had dinner with them at my parents house.

Thanks for coming down grandma and grandpa it was a very nice surprise to see you!

We then came home and Preston thought it would be funny to dress Graham in one of his t shirts

Also Graham has been rolling all over the place lately
I can tell he really wants to crawl. He gets frustrated when he is on his belly and can't move forward and gets mad when I put him on his back and rolls right over again. I think he will be crawling very soon. He is one determined little guy let me tell you.

My mom always told me I would be blessed with a child just like myself one day.. Graham is very strong willed and knows what he wants/ wants to do, like his mother. Although I think he might get some of that from Preston too ;)

Tonight we are going back to the fair but this time we promised Graham we would get him some curly fries and a cherry snow cone (or maybe that is what Preston promised me ;) so stay tuned for more pictures.

We also have to get ready to send Preston back to school on Tuesday. Graham and I are quite sad about it but we are very proud of him for working so hard!

Graham's first time to the fair and sit down restaurant

Well today was the first day of the good old butte county fair. Preston, Graham, and I went with my parents (They are "friends of the fair" so they always get a bunch of tickets). It was pretty fun. We walked around and looked at the animals and saw the guys with the chainsaws carving stuff out of wood, which Graham didn't really like. We also looked at all the exhibits. Graham did very well. Everyone walking by us was looking at him and saying how cute he was lol (Graham, not Preston HAHA)

Graham tried to convince us to let him go on a few rides, and get a funnel cake but we said no. He was a little disappointed ;)
We decided not to eat at the fair , so Preston and I came home, and I fed Graham then we met my parents at El Tomborazo for dinner. That was Graham's first real sit down meal at a restaurant. He did pretty good. It will be much easier when he is big enough for a high chair. It also helped that there was like no one in there so we could get up and bounce him without disturbing anyone.

It is so cute how he is getting so curious about what we are eating and drinking. He is starting to reach for things on the table.

Reaching for the hot sauce ;)

Everyone had their food so graham was getting concerned about where his was.
"Waitress!"

It was a fun night, and we now have one tired boy on our hands. It's weird to think that next year he will be old enough for some of the rides. (I think?)

He wont stop growing

Can we just take a second and compare these two photos:

How in the world does someone grow so much in just 4 1/2 months??!! Its absurd! I keep telling him he needs to stop but clearly he isn't listening to me ;)

Graham has also been doing this thing where he keeps in lips tucked in, I have no idea why but I think its the cutest thing in the world!

And I will throw in this one because I like it and it makes me happy!

I don't know if you have heard of 'Amber Necklaces' but they are SUPPOSED to help with teething pain. I pretty much begged Preston to let me get Graham one because, all the cool babies have them and, honestly now that I have one I think its a bunch of crap. I already sort of knew this before buying it but I ignored it because what if it really magically worked.  Preston teases me and says that the "Witch Doctor" prescribed it to me. hahaha.

Anyways Preston and I were laughing at Graham in the photo above because we thought he looked like a little Italian man. All he needs in chest hair ;)

By the way, Graham doesn't wear the necklace. Preston was right.. I will be the first to admit it. :)

I was wrong

Before I had graham I was under the strange illusion that babies sleep. Now, I am not just talking about sleeping through the night, I am talking about randomly going to sleep through the day. When I was pregnant with graham I looked forward to days when he would fall asleep on me or Preston... Because you always see the pictures of other babies doing the same, right? Well, I am sure God heard my plans of how I thought a baby should be a laughed because that is definitely not how graham is.

Preston and I have grown to accept this fact ;)

Here is a picture of Preston and graham this morning. Preston had just gotten home from working 4am to 8am and told graham that if he wasn't going to sleep on daddy, daddy was going to sleep on him. Pretty cute if you ask me.

1-4 Months

So if you are friends with me on Facebook the photos I put up will be on repeat for a while... I am sorry for that!! I think I've decided just to blog my pictures instead of uploading them on Facebook... I dunno, seems more personable to me.

Anyways... Can I just say that since I became a parent time has gone by LIKE REALLY SUPER FAST! I can't even believe we are already in the middle of August.... I feel like it was just the beginning of the year.
I have been really sentimental lately. Pretty much every night I find myself looking through all my pictures on my computer of Graham through his short 4 months with us and get really sad. For those of you who have kids, you will understand that in the beginning, especially when you are a first-time parent you are pretty much in survival mode. You aren't  quite sure what you are supposed to do with this new human.. at least that is how it was for me. You lose A LOT of sleep, and try to figure out how you are going to function day to day going from 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep to pretty much no sleep. But, eventually it all settles down, you get a routine and life goes on. Then, you are where I am today.. sitting on my couch while my almost 5 month old takes a nap wondering where the time went. Wondering if you cherished the times when he was first born enough. Hoping you remember every single detail of when he was a little baby (which is why I started this blog).

I can't even begin to describe just how much I love my son. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me, aside from marrying his daddy ;)

Some things I want to remember about Graham at 4 1/2 months:
- He just recently started taking two naps a day (on a good day). He still only naps in his swing with the vacuum on. I have no idea what I will do when he outgrows his swing... We will cross that bridge when we get there ;)

-He loves loves loves being outside. If he is being fussy sometimes a nice walk is just what he needs.

- He still doesn't like riding in the car but I must say he is getting so much better!! He now usually falls asleep after crying for just a little bit as opposed to crying the whole trip. Now, he still has his days and I still wouldn't go on a long trip in the car but we are making progress!

-He rolls over a lot now. When he is laying on the floor he will roll onto his side to watch me, it is really cute.

-He smiles/laughs when we tickle him or play peek-a-boo.

-Whenever we eat he is getting very interested in what we have. Sign he is getting ready for solids. Just 1 and a half more months buddy!

Practice blog // Graham's birth and leaving the hospital.

So I have decided to start a blog. I am not very good at writing so we will see how this goes. I mainly want to blog as a way to document things that happen in our family and things that Graham does.

Graham made his grand entrance into the world April 4th, 2013 at 9:41 P.M. It was a very looooong labor but it was definitely worth it!!
This was Graham the day after he was born. He was a very big baby weighing 9 pounds and 6 ounces. 22 1/2 inches long.

Preston, Graham, and I were in the hospital from Wednesday April 3rd to Tuesday April 9th. The day we got to go home with our precious bundle of joy was the best day ever!! I still can't believe they let us leave the hospital with him.

Our first picture with our boy outside the hospital. I was really nervous to drive him home, but we made it just fine ;)

I will write more later, I have a good 4 1/2 months of his life to catch up on! :)
